THE CALLING GROUND

The Calling Ground is one of my favorite projects - I journeyed to 60 Methodist Camp Meetings in mostly rural areas of the US and Canada. My criteria was simple : Photograph the camps that had been continually operating for at least 100 years. What a project- so many miles of driving, so many wonderful people and the result is a poignant look at a part of American social culture: the American Camp Meeting.
